Three Macedon Ranges musicians present Schumann's Liederkreis, Opus 39 and Dichterliebe, Opus 48, two of the greatest song cycles of all time. Both were composed in 1840, the former setting poetry of Eichendorff, the latter of Heine. Dichterliebe is the better-known cycle, but the earlier opus yields nothing to it in inspiration and beauty.
