Cellist Josephine Vains has rounded up a team of fellow string virtuosi to perform the celebrated Mendelssohn Octet, written in 1825 when the composer was just 16 years old, and the wonderful (though lesser-known) Octet by Max Bruch, the composer's last work, completed early in 1920, just months before his death.
