Robyn Rowland has published 9 books, six of
them poetry. Silence and its tongues (Five Islands Press, 2006) was
shortlisted for the 2007 ACT Minister's Judith Wright Poetry Prize.
Robyn has won, among other prizes, the Catalpa
Poetry Prize and overall Writers Prize from the Australian- Irish Heritage
Association, and the Jean Stone Poetry Prize 2006 (NSW, FAW). Robyn
regularly reads/teaches in Ireland. Previously Professor of Social Inquiry
at Deakin University, she was made an Officer in the Order of Australia for
her contribution to higher education and women's health in 1996.
This session will be chaired by Rodney Hall,
award winning author and poet, who has twice won the Miles Franklin Award.
He was presented with the gold medal of the Australian Literature Society in
1992 and again in 2001.
