Bryony Cosgrove editor of Portrait of a Friendship. For fifty years Judith Wright and Barbara Blackman were friends, this is their correspondence and their lives. Michael  Gurr is a playwright and activist. His memoir Days Like These casts a shrewd eye over Australian culture and politics. One of Australia’s best-known biographers Brenda Niall now has her own memoir Life Class, revealing her development as a writer, and Alice Pung a young Chinese-Cambodian pursues the Australian dream – Asian style. Four very different approaches to things remembered and recorded.
